About Department
A full fledged Department of Sports & Youth Affairs was established on
the 4th July 1995. This was an acknowledgement by the government of the
importance of Sports and Youth programs in the development of our youth
to promote physical fitness and through this to fight the menace of
drugs, and to provide the facilities and exposure for the talented to
excel.
Sports & Games Activities and Programs :
(a) At the school level all institutions are provided
sports equipments. Inter School competitions at the district and the
state level are organized on a regular basis in a few chosen games.
Inter School women's’ football was introduced in 1999 and this was not
with great enthusiasm by the fairer sex. The state championship in 2000
